I can do what I want! I do love that aspect of it all.....

STOP THE PRESS! Who's that foxy lady?
Seriously, though! I know you're totally jealous of my hair!
Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful! Not everyone can have my good looks and charm!

Dang! Canning is sooooooooo much work. I had no idea. I've done a little here & a little there, but this year I have so much fruit in the back yard it's come'n out of my ears! And there's this thing inside of me that always screams "Don't let it go to waste!"
So I've been canning, canning, canning! Pie fillings, jams, jellies, juice, etc. And there's still so much to do. I never grew up w/ people canning around me. So it's all new to me. No one ever told me it was so much work.
Anyway - I love taking pumpkin pics w/ my kids every fall. These are just a few...

I really love this time of year. I think it's my favorite!
I woke up this morning on my own - before anyone else too. Miracle! Anyway, I came down stairs to the morning light... house quiet... not a peep. I come into the kitchen and find (drumroll please)...batman. Sitting quietly at the kitchen table. Waiting. (for me I guess) When he saw me he smiled at me with this sweet face. And then I heard a quiet whisper.... "pop pop pop pop?" (translation = pop tart)
So I warmed up a strawberry pop tart and gave it to him. I sat next to him and just watched as he ate up every crumb. Wow! Is Zach really gonna turn 12 in a couple weeks? I guess there's no stopping time. But if there was such a thing I would freeze mornings like this one. It was a wonderful way to start my day!

For Halloween Mary wants to be a pink butterfly fairy. Jacob wants to be a spider.
Should I torture them and make them pumpkins instead? How cute are they!
Of course I won't torture them! But I had to catch a couple photo's for my own amuzement.
Apple sauce, apple pie, apple juice, apple cobblers, apple butter, apple muffins and cakes, ...
I'm so excited I can barely stand it. We've got soooo many apples this year. And homeschooling the girls makes it extra exciting because we can bake and can and juice together. Just like the prairie days - mothers and children side by side making all sorts of homemade yummies from their home grown harvest. I sware! I was born in the wrong era!
Today's chore for the twins was to go outside in the back and fill their bowls full with hand picked apples. I know. I know. They have it so bad. I'm such a mean mom! I mean - a couple of 3 year olds picking apples off a tree is just so.... so..... abusive.
Pants are on backwards, belly is hang'n out cause shirt is too small - but wants it on because Buzz is on it, and cowboy boots- cause you know they looks so good w/ shorts.... Yes this is Jacob in a nutshell. He dressed himself - can you tell?
Wow! Such hard little workers making sure those apples don't fall out of their bowls. Takes lots of concentration, you know!
MMMMmmmmmmm! The taste testing is the best part!
